Phonics Logics

The science behind the Mnephonics approach is logical. The Phoenicians used the same science to create the world's first alphabet!

Mnephonics Testimony

I am so excited to share this program with my colleagues. I can't wait to see how excited they will be when they realize how well it works. I know, I am constantly amazed! Most of my kindergartners this year were reading at least a grade level ahead of expectations and almost all of my special needs children were reading on grade level. The best part was that they were able to enjoy learning to read. It wasn't a stressful experience for them. Without this program I don't know how I would have been able to keep up with the increasing expectations from the state. You said at our training that this program helps teachers to "teach smarter, not harder" and that quote has stuck in my head the past few years. Once again I want to thank you for helping me to become a better teacher and for allowing me to pass this gift on to other teachers, so they can pass it on to their students. I know the children at our school will greatly benefit from your generosity.

Case Study

From First Grade Teacher, Harnett County Schools...

During the 2001-2002 school year, I had an LEP student with vision problems. He began to learn to associate sounds/symbols and connect these with words/meanings using this method. It was amazing! After only 1 week, he was able to identify the letters in his name and several words. He was also able to write them correctly! This was amazing because NOTHING else had worked. When my assistant and I used this method, we were so amazed we actually cried! For the first time, this student began to show progress and was actually learning!!!

More Testimony

I introduced Mnephonics to my (135) ESL students at the beginning of this school year. Everybody thought it was very interesting and fun. Now after 5 months of hard work with this approach, my students are just amazed at how much they have improved. The students that could not make the connection with reading, are reading and creating sentences andparagraphs that amaze everybody. Some of them with learning disabilities have been motivated to read because of Mnephonics.

The classes are full of happy faces because they are reading and they are understanding that they are reading. I would like to have fewer students or more time at school to work with all of them, because the results are just wonderful. I would like also, to motivate other teachers to try, to give not just our ESL students the possibility to use Mnephonics.

IT JUST MAKES SENSE! I just hope you know what mnephonics has done for children here in Hickory. You are changing lives and futures on a daily basis through mnephonics!

I will tell you that the teachers at my school have just been amazed at the progress that students have made using mnephonics. Each time we have Student Assistance Team it is used as a strategy for helping students cue sounds in words. I have students who are in 2nd grade (for the 2nd time) who did not know their letter sounds much less how to read.

Mnephonics has been their vehicle to the world of literacy. I can see a difference in the way they approach literature. At the beginning of the year I would hand them a book we were going to read in class and they were already defeated before we opened the book. They knew they couldn't read. We proved them wrong! ha! One has been officially tested as EMD and I'm sure the other student is too...so there is a bit more going on with these students. We even use it with some 4th graders who are struggling. The kinders and 1st graders that have been taught mnephonics have grown leaps and bounds this year.

A 1st grade teacher came to me today and said that one of our ELLs just tested at 93% on a 16...that's where he is supposed to be at the end of the year. She said that's just "unheard of"...I know it's the connections he has made because of mnephonics. He was a 3 in December! I know the difference it has made with my students!
